Board Meeting Minutes
City of Seneca Gardens
December 15th, 2025

Present: Mayor Kaufman, Commissioners Kessinger, McGuire, Perkey and Smith, Treasurer Sanders, Engineer Niemann, Arborist Hayman, Chief Lamey, and City Clerk Jones

Meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Minutes from November meeting were approved unanimously.

Chief Lamey:  Reported that two of the groups breaking into cars in the metro area have been apprehended. Metro and the Strathmoor police continue to take all necessary steps to keep Seneca Gardens safe and find the other thieves.

There were 17 traffic stops, 5 auto break-ins, 4 pedestrian stops late at night (individuals were just walking through and moved on), 1 resident needed vehicle assist.

Two new officers will be joining the Strathmoor police in the new year.

Arborist: Pruning will start up again soon.  He is working with a new group but they are still within budget.

Treasurer:  Bills are paid and within budget.

Engineer:  The Grant money has come through and the sidewalk work will start when weather permits.

Resident requested a refund from a permitted deck project but the inspection revealed that they had not obtained required permits for

an enclosed porch extension. The Board voted unanimously to refund only $250 of the deck permit fee instead of the $350 refund, keeping $100 as a penalty for the other unpermitted work.

Perkey:  The newly revamped website is live.

He requests submissions from the Board soon for the next newsletter.

McGuire:  He has had several requests for the snow removal help list.  Project seems to be working well.

Smith:  The grant request has been submitted for the monies to fund the codification of ordinances. The decision by KDLA (Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives) will be made in March.

She is proposing a monthly email to residents called Gardens Gazette.  It would provide timely information including public works updates, City and local events, public safety information and other items related to our City.   This would not replace the quarterly newsletter.

Kessinger:  Santa will be at Meadow and Trevillian this Sunday. She has done a lot to make this a special event.

Meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m. voted unanimously.
