Board Meeting Minutes
City of Seneca Gardens
November 17th, 2025

Present:  Mayor Kaufman, Commissioners Kessinger, McGuire, Perkey and Smith, Treasurer Sanders, Engineer Niemann, Arborist Hayman, Chief Lamey, and City Clerk Jones

Guests: Dan & Teresa Oetken, Valletta Road

Meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Minutes from the October meeting were approved unanimously.

Chief Lamey: Addressed the increase of auto break-ins around the area.  Metro and local law enforcement are looking for a two-man team.  Door surveillance shows the crew works between 3-5:00 a.m.  Chief is adjusting the schedules of his officers and stopping “slow moving” vehicles to determine if they are reconnoitering or just making a food delivery.

Two events, Halloween and the Gardens Gathering

Treasurer: Reports all bills paid and within budget. 

Needed a vote to remove past City officials from the bank registry.  Vote was passed unanimously.

Arborist: Is planning to plant two trees in the easement at 2530 Broadmeade.  

Engineer: Permit requested for a garage build on Meadow, it is moving to architectural review.

Two dumpster permits requested

Permit refund issued to resident on Valletta Road

Sidewalk repairs are moving forward and should start at the end of November, weather dependent.

McGuire: LG&E replaced lightbulb in streetlamp at Taylorsville and Trevillian

Leaf and snow removal is up and going.  Make inquiries for service at senecagardenssteve@gmail.com    

Smith: Is working with Josh Morgan at American Legal to get a grant to publish and codify City ordinances that are required by state law. This grant would keep the publication within City budget.

She would like the Board to evaluate having a monthly info/event notice on the website or Reach alert to start in the new year.

Kessinger: Gardens Gatherings went well and all bills are paid and within budget.

Christmas Santa event will be December 14 from 12-2:00 p.m. (see newsletter for details)

City Christmas decorations will start going up after Thanksgiving.

Perkey: Website test has been working and updates will move forward.

He continues to request material for content from Board members, residents and local Metro officials.

Meeting adjourned at 7:42 p.m. voted unanimously.
